My work is currently on show at RE Bucheli Fine Art in Bristol, St David's Communuty Centre in Exeter and online at Saatchi.
My paintings arise from a longstanding interest in British urban scenery. I think that unpopular features of cities like brutalist architecture, subways and decay are often visually beautiful, despite representing modern malaise. I tend to avoid recognised attractions, seeking out the views which more reflect my spirit. Using my photographs as a guide, I try to create something freer and more texturally alive than photo realism whilst retaining the atmosphere of the photographed scene. I am more concerned with mood and mystery than with shape and design.
Gallery 3 contains some of my earlier work in which I have joined together different elements of landscape and added figures, under the guidance of my imagination.
